1. Who we are

IrishTaxTools.ie is operated by D'Emilia Digital, a trading name of D'Emilia Accounting. Our registered address and contact details are available at demiliaaccounting.ie.

We are the Data Controller for personal data collected through this website.

2. How IrishTaxTools works

IrishTaxTools.ie operates as a public information and calculator website. This means:

  • No account required. You can use every calculator, guide, template, and checklist on this site without creating an account or providing any personal information.
  • All calculations happen in your browser. Every calculator runs entirely using JavaScript on your device. No calculation data, inputs, or results are ever sent to our servers.
  • No personal tax information is retained. We do not store, log, or process any tax figures, salary details, income amounts, or personal financial data entered into our tools.
  • No user accounts. IrishTaxTools does not offer user registration, login, saved reports, or personalised dashboards. All session data is discarded when you close the browser tab.

3. What data we collect

Given the public-only nature of this site, we collect very little data:

  • Analytics (if consented): If you accept cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymised data about pages visited, time on site, and general location (country/city level). We do not collect names or email addresses through analytics.
  • Cookies: We set a functional cookie (cookie_consent) to remember your cookie preference. If analytics cookies are accepted, Google Analytics sets its own cookies (_ga, _ga_*).
  • Contact: If you email us directly, we retain the content of that email and your email address for the purpose of responding to you.

4. Legal basis for processing

  • Analytics: Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) — only set after you accept cookies.
  • Cookie consent preference: Legitimate interest — necessary to remember your preference and avoid showing the banner on every page.
  • Email correspondence: Legitimate interest — to respond to your enquiry.

5. Third parties

  • Google Analytics 4: Only loaded after consent. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
  • Google AdSense: If advertising is enabled, Google may serve personalised or non-personalised ads depending on your consent choice. Google's ad privacy: policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
  • Google Fonts: We use Google Fonts (Inter) loaded from Google's CDN. This may result in your IP address being transmitted to Google. We do not control this data transfer. See Google's privacy policy above.
  • We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for marketing.

6. Your rights under GDPR

You have the right to: access your personal data; request correction; request erasure; object to processing; withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@irishtaxtools.ie.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (Ireland): dataprotection.ie.

7. Data retention

Calculator inputs are never stored — all processing is browser-side only. Analytics data retained by Google according to Google's own retention policy (default 26 months). Email correspondence retained until resolved plus 12 months.

We will update this policy if our practices change. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version.
